Something a little different...

Good evening everyone! I do hope you have all had the most fabulous Christmas! We had a nice relaxing day with our parents and my brother and his partner, and a delicious BBQ for lunch and left overs for dinner. Lots of music and dancing and the girls really enjoyed playing with the new toys :)
I just wanted to share a couple of photos of a little fella I found over near our lemon tree... never seen anything like it although we do get alot of bugs and spiders out here I had never seen in town. Anyway here he (or she) is :)
Isn't this the most beautiful little creature! Mother nature surely makes some amazing things! But please dont get me wrong... I wouldn't be calling it beautiful or amazing if it was running up my arm! I cant say I'm a fan of spiders but he's pretty far away from the house so I think I'm safe ;)
We've got some exciting plans for renovating our house and looks like John will be letting me have a craft room all to my very own! With a door I can shut hehe, atm I have half a family room blocked off with a desk and 2 seater couch but my 18month old monkey can already make her way in and too many sharp things so I've been tidy-ing up! can you imagine! When I'm finished I might even post a photo or three! hopefully back with some cards during the week, and keep your eyes out for my DT work for the Sketches! Starting January!!! How super exciting!!!!
Well enough from me, time for some snoozing after a very long day. Take care one and all for a safe and wonderful festive season, may you all enjoy it!!
Love and best wishes, Jessica xxxx

Combinations

Hello! Here I have two cards to show you, first one I combined the fab sketch from Laura over at 2Sketches4You and at Creatalicious Bec and Cheryl asked for 'something old, something new, something torn, something blue'... Great challenge, it really got me thinking! So blue I have, and tore my oldest patterned paper to fit in with Lauras sketch, and those new half pearls I bought on my last shopping trip.
I also have this bright bird card for Day 288 Super Sketchy Sunday over at 365 Cards and combined it with the crazy colour challenge over at Design dollies. I bought this quick cuts Bird die just last week too and loving it! Aimee loves it too and now any christmas cards she is making 'need' to have baby bird on them too!

As always I would looooove to hear what you think! And thanks for stopping by xx

Good morning, I'm quickly popping these two cards that I finished up this morning onto my blog, then off to catch up on the house work while my littlest girl is snoozing, and my biggest one is out riding her bike :)
I've got a burgandy coloured card for the white space challenge day 286 over at 365 Cards.
And another card with the sweet 'soaking up the joy' image from Mo's digital pencil. There is a link in my sidebar if you want to check out all the amazing images she has! I've followed the lovely sketch from Karen over at The Sweetest Thing, She has a great new sketch every Sunday, and I'm late with this one lol but thought I wold pop it up to show you anyway :)
Now I'm off to check if there is anyone else who has put thier name down for my candy, I've got lots of goodies here to add to it!
Thanks for stopping by, Happy blogging xx

Stampin Sunday

Hello Bloggers!
This card is for the Stampin Saturday Challenge for Day 287 over at 365 Cards, and I made it today which is sunday.
My card uses all stampin' up products (not intentional) Sahara Sand Cardstock, So Swirly Stamp roller, Basic Brown classic Stamp pad and sentiments and flowers come from the Baroque Motifs set. I even punched the flowers with a 3/4 inch punch I ordered from Kim, my stampin' up friend :) when I bought some templates to make gift boxes (which I will do... soon)
This is another card I made straight after because the first card gave me the idea for it.
Would love to hear which one you like better, John likes the first one, I like the one with the Kaisercraft flowers and bling brads. Please excuse my crooked stamping too!
Thanks for stopping by xx

Wishing you joy this Christmas

Good afternoon, I've got a card to share for the Sketch Challenge for Day 284 DIY Sketches over at 365 Cards, combining it with the challenge over at Die Cut Dreams- green cream and beige and also entering it at Creative Card Crew for the gold and silver challenge (the cream paper is embossed with gold dots, cant see it very well in photo). It wont load up my sketch, not the right sort of file or something so I will draw it and take a photo? and pop it on later.
This happy image 'soaking up the joy' comes from Mo's digital pencil, coloured with Aimee's textas and see that little ticket? 'Wishing you Joy this Christmas'... Well I picked it up for FREE! over at the blog of the very talented Bizzy Bec :) She has also opened a new Digi download store so if you love digi, do pop over and see her, I can guarentee you wont be disappointed!
Well thats it for me today, John fixed the leaky pipe on the water tank after he got home from work this morning, and now he is out doing lawns so I should probably go and get something out for dinner, and maybe even fold some washing. I'd much rather be crafting tho ;)
Happy Blogging xxx

A week of cards!

Good morning! I am super excited to show you all the cards for this whole week for the challenges over at 365 Cards Challenge Blog where the sponsor this week has been KLM Digital Designs.
Day 275 - red and green. Um so this is my second entry to this challenge. This pudding came to me from the lovely Lisa in a fab RAK she sent me.
Day 276 - You're an Angel. This little lovely comes from All that Scraps online store and her name is Celeste. I coloured her with Aimee's crayola markers hehe.
Day 277 - Just a fraction. I've used 2 stamps from stampin' up 'for the bride' collection. Also entering this one at Cute Card Thursday in the swirly girly theme.
Day 278 - cant miss it. This card took me ages and is the reason I"m posting so late, I just couldn't make up my mind what to do as I have no suitable images or stamps for this. So I chose this one from Mo's Digital pencil and this couple are named Jack and Ginger.
Day 279 - Wordy background. I found this paper in my stash... it could be called 'Carols' from Rebekka Erickson. Tried not to cover it up too much :)
Day 280 - kind of like a candy cane. red striped paper. I didn't think I had any, but when hunting thru my cupboard for the spotty red and white paper I knew I had I found this! so even tho Gloria and Rose said the spotty paper would be ok, I've teamed my striped paper up with another image from Mo's Digital Pencil this little sweatheart is called 'soaking up the joy' and once again, coloured her with Aimee's markers. I'm also entering it at Sketch Saturday as I followed the fab sketch over there!
AAAnd Day 281 which is the sketch from 365 extra... if you applied for a spot on the DT you will know what I'm talking about, but if not check it out here. Pam has already seen my take on this sketch ;) but I'll post it here for you all to see.
And would you believe I even used Pam's Sunday sketch last week! but thats in an older post. over 7days of cards in a row! Yay me :)
Well thats it from me today lol I'm off to make some mini sausage rolls, and see what I have in the cupboard as I need to bake a sweet to take to the kindergarten BBQ tomorrow evening. I'm thinking something easy like choc ripple cake with strawberries... mmm yum!
Thanks for stopping by, hope you all have a great start to the week! Take care xx

Just a few more...

Good morning, I've got 3 cards to share today and I'll start with this one following the fab sketch #43 over at CardPatterns, I've rotated the sketch and had a great time decorating the tree. Hopefully we get one up in our loungeroom this weekend so I can pull out the tub of baubles and tinsels! I'm also entering it for Day 275 at 365 Cards for the green and red challenge!
Next up I've got a card for Crafty Creations - week 44 - lace and distressing, and I've teamed it up with an older sketch from Sketches {by Tamara} who has a DT call on atm so follow the link to find out more if you're interested! but be quick it ends today!! My last card is made following another older sketch from card patterns Sketch # 32 and you can see all their older sketches here, and I'm combining it with Day 273 at 365 Cards Pretty pattern - Damask. I found this paper in an old stack at the bottom of my cupboard, along with a few other pretties I'll be using up soon! so pulling it out was a great idea, Thanks Pam :) Thanks for stopping by and I do hope you all have a fabulous weekend whatever you are doing, and just a note that I will postpone my blog candy until next week as I ran out of time shopping yesterday, Aimee was just testing my patience, so I decided it was time to go home. Ever have days like that? xx

My first Magnolia

Good evening all! I've just been out to catch the last little bit of sunlight to take a photo of my card. This is the first time I've used a magnolia image, and sorry I dont know what she is called, she came to me in a fabulous RAK from the lovely Jacqui. I coloured her with my derwents, I was planning on getting some copics a few months ago but if you're a reader of my blog you will know I hardly use images like this on my cards. So I'm holding off until... I dont know when.
I followed the sketch over at All That Scraps Wednesday Weekly Challenge Blog... not my idea of an easy sketch, I found it hard to place all the layers so they sat right. I think I still missed a layer. The DT have some lovely work pop over and check it out if you have time!
I combinded it with the christmas theme over at Magnolia Down Under Challanges #27 which it's my first time entering any challenges there :)
aaaand there are 2 days over at 365 Cards this can work for, colour me with this (pencils) Day 266 and to use your own Handwritting... sorry cant find the day for that one! I thought it was recent but I cant see it hehe
Thanks for stopping by and I'd love any comments or suggestions on improvement for this card as I haven't really made anything like it before. Happy Blogging xx

Watch this space!!

I just noticed I have had over 5000 visits to my blog! Thank you to you all for stopping by... and especially those of you who leave comments, it really brightens my day :)
To show my appreciation I'll pop back tomorrow evening with some candy... so watch this space!

Rainy Monday...

I've got a few things to share this afternoon, first a thumbprint art card for Day 268 over at 365 Cards. Thats John, Aimee Charlotte and myself on the front, Aimee's idea hehe and I combined it with a sketch from ICS #44.
Next is an ATC for Sophisticats challenge blog, and I'm also entering it Allsorts Challenge blog at as they wanted to see buttons this week. This is the first ATC I've ever had a go at making. Another challenge at 365 cards, Day 269 Pam asked to see knots... I've made three sets of 4 little gift cards for Jewlz shop. Quick and easy as I tried to keep them minimal as there is not much space to decorate, they are about 7.5 by 10.5 cm. And Day 274 - Super Sketchy Sunday was a fun sketch to work with and here's what I came up with: Well thats it for me today. We had an unbelievable 48ml of rain over the weekend, and looking outside now you wouldn't think tomorrow is the first day of summer. Thanks very much for stopping by and I do appreciate any comments if you have time to leave them :) Hope you all have a great start to the week! Happy blogging xx

Last Post... for today anyway

Gotta be quick! It's almost time to start dinner lol and it takes me that long to get organised... I like to have dinner on the table when John walks in the door :)
So I found a great sketch to follow and here it is:
This is M's sketch #4 over at Savitri Wilders blog. I couldn't not play along, and when I showed my Aimee she was keen to sit up and make something too. Here's what I came up with:
And here is Aimee with her creations!
The only thing I did was trim the pattern paper so she could round the edges (like mine) and I put the sticky on the packs of the buttons, the rest she did on her own :) her other card is a cat who likes to wear bows in its hair. Now she has gone out for a bike ride while I cook her some 2 hour noodles hehe.
She says some funny things sometimes.
Ok well thanks for stopping by and please do pop over and see Savitri and Miss M :) you wont be disappointed! Happy blogging xx

I've made a start!

Well I've finally made a start on some Christmas cards!
First one is for the sketch over at Charisma Cardz and they are being sponsered by Daisy May Designs. I flipped the sketch and stamped the santa on stampin' up 'certainly celery' card stock and heat embossed with clear ink and powder, found a red button in the Jar from the op shop and the paper and flowers both come from Kaiser craft. I tried to take a photo from a different angle to show you my distressing and the embossing... it's raised and glossy.
Second card is for Kazans new sketch over at 2S4Y. The DT have some beautiful work to inspire you, and they are being sponsered by JustRite Stamps.
I'm starting to get into the Christmassy mood lol still trying to talk John into a real tree rather than a plastic one, I just like the smell :) Thanks for stopping by and I do hope you all enjoy your day where ever you are xx

(Title here)

I can never think of what to put as my title! Well this arvo I have 3 cards to show you. First one for the fab sketch over at Card Patterns if you want to see it just click on the link, it may even inspire you to make something wonderful! I've combined it with Day 264 - keep it to yourself which means no sentiments! Its a congratulations card... wedding obviously! I love this stamp set from stampin' up and I've heat embossed with clear ink and powder onto certainly celery, little distressing around the edges, some pearls and flowers... love how it turned out!
Next up is an old challenge from 365 Cards Day 73 to include circles scallops and bling! in between the bottons at the top are 4 rhinestones and there is also one little purple bling butterfly beside the six. my scalloped edge isn't very big, I used my fiskars template and shapecutter, and for the circle too! And last and my least favourite (lol can I say that?) is a 30th card for Day 262 which is a colour challenge over at 365 cards. The guest DT Rose did an amazing job with these colours but I really struggled. I guess thats why it's called a challenge! If you haven't heard Pam from 365 is looking for someone to fill a spot on her DT... if you are interested you can find out more HERE!!!

Well thats it from me for now :) hopefully my girls have an early night and I get a few cards done before nip/tuck... lol I like to watch it when John has gone to sleep. I think because it is so un-realistic and I cant relate to anything that happens to those characters, much better than watching things that upset me. Like the news haha I get upset easily, it's a scary world out there... anyway enough dribble thanks so much for stopping by and as always I would love to hear what you think of my cards! xx

All-in-one post

Good afternoon, I have a couple of things to post and I'm going to do them all in one, hope you dont mind :) first up I've got a card for Lauras sketch over at 2Sketches4You
and I also managed to complete the bonus sketch which was set by Cheryl. I also have a card for super sketchy sunday Day 57 back in April over at 365 Cards
I'm not sure why I only have a photo of this card on this angle... and now I can't even find the link for the challenge... I thought it was an older one on 365 cards but I'm all confused as I've been going back looking at all the challenges since they started.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope to be back with more cards on Sunday. I did spend a big chuck of this morning organising my craft space a little... doesn't look like I've done much tho. Hopefully it helps me get thru a few this evening tho :)
I do hope you all enjoy your weekends xx

Friends...
