Mothers day card for Beary box sketch #19

Well here I am with my take on the card sketch #19 over at Beary box but my photos are pretty bad, it's too late in the evening and we have energy saving globes but I dont want to post it too late which is what I usually seem to do lol It's a mothers day card, and mothers day is still another month and a half away. I used my new patterned paper from scrap and stamp attack, but unsure of the brand, some rhinestones i just bought on ebay and the butterfly is from my stash, i think jenni B is the brand. I traced the letters then cut them out of the patterned paper, then used double sided mounting foam tape to stick them on the blue card and then cut around them to make them stand out, and used the mounting foam again to attatch them to the card. I was a little unsure on the bright blue with the brownish sort of paper, but overall pleased with the end result :) I even did a little bit of pretty onthe inside. Pop over to beary box and see the sketch for yourself, would love to hear what u think about my card :) and thanks for stopping by! oops! i almost forgot to upload my photos lol

For my Dad

My Dad is turning 50 in 2 weeks time, so I have combined the sketch from Mojo Monday and the challenge at Cute card Thursday to create this Birthday card. All papers are from my stash, silver heart made by jenni B that I bought in spotlight, the little heart with the imprint 'made with love' and leaf I got on ebay, the parcel finally came today and I was quite happy with my purchase. The letter studs I bought in scrap and stamp attack they are paperstud Alphabet Brads pewter 78 and ribbon from my stash, I think it came from spotlight also. It took me ages to decide on which colours to use as I have alot of flowery patterns in my stash and didnt want it looking 'girly' with the ribbon and embelishments, but I think I pulled it off ok. As always I would love to hear what you think, and thanks for taking the time to stop in :) happy blogging!

3 combined challenges

Well this is the first time I have tried to combine THREE challenges, and I am quiet happy with how it turned out :) The challenge over at scrapping out loud was to use only 3 split complimentary colors from the color wheel on your layout, they have a link on the site to a colour wheel which is where I found out what split complimentary meant. They also have word of the week and LO that you can use to earn extra entries into thier blog candy. The sketch is layout sketch #88 from
All the papers are from my stash, the flowers are cut from sizzix dies and the f-u-n are print blocks paper studs alphabet brads pewter. The chipboard is from the reject shop it was only $2 for a full alphabet but it is a mix of upper and lower case. I think thats pretty much it :)
Oh and I'll leave a comment for Michelle at Scrappy Hours to see if this qualifies for her sports theme challenge, she has some candy to give away this month too so pop over and check it out! That would make it 3 challenges combined!! Well I guess there is a first time for eveything :) Thanks for stopping by! and I'd love to hear what you have to say.

Beary box LO#19 - Family

Here is my page I've made following the sketch over at Beary Box , Joey posts 2 great sketchs each week, LO on Monday and Card on Thursday, and after seeing this weeks LO sketch I knew which photo I wanted to use, i had accidently ordered two copies in 3x5 so i used the spare one.
John bought me a fiskars cutting mat and some stencil things from k-mart so now I can do scalloped edges yay :) and I'm waiting for some bits and pieces to turn up in the post that I bought off ebay for my next layout following the same sketch...

And yes I have used the same lettering as my last LO, trying to use up the alphabets I have before I buy some more.

I would love to hear what you think of my take on the sketch, and please pop over and visit the beary box blog and see the sketch for yourself... I cant wait to see her card sketch on Thursday because I'm heaps organised to get them done a bit earlier this week :) Oh and they have an online store too! Thanks for stopping by :)

beary box card challenge #18

Hi again, I am just posting my take on Joeys card sketch over at beary box, and before you look at it I just want to say I only bought this cute little penny black stamp and my new tombo markers on thursday and this is the first chance I've had to use them, which is why I'm not overly impressed with the image, I guess its going to take a bit of practice before I get it looking right.
I've got some friends all due to have babies in the next few months so if one has a girl I think this card will suit fine :) love to hear what you think, or any tips on using watercolour markers would be greatly appreciated! thanks for stopping by!

beary box LO#18

Here is my take on the LO sketch #18 over at Bearybox this week. Took me a while to work out which set of photos I wanted to use and then I dont think I got the base card colour quite right. When I went for my chipboard I didnt have all the letters I needed in upper or lower case so I just mixed them up a bit. So now chipboard is on my shopping list and I think scrap and stamp attack have a huge pack for around $25 so I'll have a look when I go in on Thursday. Also on my list is more ribbons, and something to store them in.
Anyway thanks for stopping by and please do head over to beary box and see Joeys fab sketches for yourself, she always has some nice candy up for grabs so do join in the fun!! I'm going to tackle the card sketch now, see if I can get it finished before tomorrow night! I just wish I had more time for this :)

Kazan's sketch 22 x 2

Over at 2S4Y they have a special challenge this week, and another wonderful sketch! They have asked if you could get the child(ren) in your life to create a card with you and post on your blog. Well I didn't have to ask my 4 year old Aimee twice, she loves sitting up at the dining table with me and going through all the bits and pieces deciding what she will use. She especially likes to decorate empty yogurt containers as party hats for her toys :)
Aimee said I could use the same colours as her, she stuck everything down on her own and decided where everything would go after I showed her the sketch, and she also did the stamping, I trimmed the papers to size and she did the rest. She made me a mothers day card and asked if I could copy her.
All papers are from my stash, we used buttons from spotlight and ribbon from there also, Aimee used inkadinkado stamps and I hand wrote on the front of mine, I had a quick look in spotlight yesterday for dress patterns for the girls, I've decided I'm going to make their flower girls dresses for our wedding in October, and as I was walking out I saw a clearance table full of rub-ons!! so I will be back in town on Thursday to find some bargains.

Scrappy Hours Sports challenge

Hi there, just posting my LO for the challenge over at scrappy hours, Michelle asked for "sports theme" and to be honest we're not really a sporty family, maybe when the kids are a bit older we'll get into it a bit more. So this is what i came up with. I have had these photos sitting on the top of the pile since january just waiting for a bit of inspiration... this was it :) Michelle has some blog candy up for grabs when you enter either of her March challenges so hop on over and have a look!
I've used paper from my stash, stamped images are inkadinkado clear stamps hearts and love, and florishes, and some little pink felt sticker flowers from the jenni B collection.

Beary box card sketch 17

I hope I'm not too late with this one! It's my take on the sketch for beary box card sketch #17, I played around with it alot and tried to put a stamped image on the front as Joey and the fab design team have but I couldnt make it look right so I've decided this just means I need more stamps!! Please follow the link to see the sketch, Joey posts a LO sketch and a card sketch every week! I'd love to hear what you think of my card, and thanks for stopping by.

Laura's sketch 21

Hi there!! Here is my take on Laura's sketch over at 2 sketches for you, I finished it in time to post before they post Kazans next sketch! Dawne also had a fab bonus sketch but I just haven't had enough time, we have had such a busy week!
My photos aren't great as I took the shots late in the evening, I've used some more of my new paper from the scrapbooking shop in dove court, buttons from spotlight and ribbon also from spotlight, gift image is one of my cuttlebug embossing folders, and the HB I cut out and then traced a bigger version in darker paper to make it stand out more...
I was going to stick some little spakley bits where the holes should be in the B but I kinda cant find where i have put them... so tomorrow will be spent cleaning out my scrapbook cupboard and getting organised!! Motivation permitting... Anyway I think I stayed pretty true to the sketch and even put a little decoration on the inside, I feel 14cm square is a little big for writting in, it just looked too bare.
I've got a link over on the right hand side if you want to see the fab work by the DT and see the sketch for yourself!
I'd love to hear what you thnk of my card, and thanks so much for stopping by :)

Mojo week 77

Well... i finally found the recharger for the batteries in the camera so i could take some pics! Here is my take on the sketch for mojo monday week 77 and I must say I am quite happy with how it turned out :) Even put a little something on the inside! I'm going to look around for some stamps so I can put a sentiment on the insides too. I have used my new cuttlebug embossing folders for the birthday title and little cake on the inside, and I bought some new papers from the Scrapbooking shop in dove court, so many beautiful things in there and great prices too! Ribbon is from Sams warehouse and buttons are from spotlight. I've been making my cards 14cm squared so i can fit them in some 15cm square envelopes i purchased on ebay.
Please follow the link to see the sketch over at mojo monday and check out the fab work by the DT, I love Wendy's card, it is so very cute!
Would love to hear what you think of my card, and thanks for looking!!
