I'm not going to make it...

**I finally have photos up-loaded!**
Well goodmorning, and only just! 8 minutes to 12 and I want to turn the computer off then. It;s not going to happen I can already tell lol. Well I thought I would try and load my photos before I write my post, but they seem to be up-loading as I type, so fingers crossed.
I've got 3 cards to show you today, all for 365 Challenges as I was trying to complete all the challenges for this month, but I have fallen behind and can't see myself making.... 11 more cards tonight because I wont be home from work until 9ish, so I will have another go for August :)
The first card is Day 145 - Ad inspired. Amy chose a lovely cusion to inspire us, and she has a fantastic example on the 365 blog, her owl is too cute!
The second one is Day 150 - Eye for an I. The challenge is to replace a word with the same word but different spelling and different meaning. I swapped you for ewe... but I guess thats pretty obvious :P and I used Laura's sketch over at 2S4Y as my starting point.
The third card that I have just finished not 5 minutes ago is Day 151 - "you can do it" which is the sentiment to use on your card. I printed it off the computer and followed the fun sketch over at OCC. I stamped the butterfly, cut it out and bent its wings up to give it a bit of dimension.
I'm going to pick up my swiss dots folder today, I've had it on order for a month or two now, cant wait to put it to use! Well it's now 12.01 so I'll go start lunch while I wait for the photos to finish loading. Thanks for stopping by. Happy blogging xx

Home is where the heart is

Well it's already the afternoon! We've had a busy day so far, trying to get the washing done while the sun is out, and scrapping in between loads :) Here is a card I created for the fab sketch over at The Pink Elephant and combining a challenge from 365 Cards Day 137 - I'm in a bind, and over at UYS they want to see the scraps left over from what you have made this month, I've been using the Basic grey paper and quotes too. It's made especially for one of Aimee's friends from Kinder and her Mum who have just moved into their new house :) I hope they like it! Well I'm off to try and complete the rest of the challenges over at 365 Cards for July now... wish me luck!
Thanks for stopping by and Happy blogging xx

More yummy blog candy

The wonderful Joanne over at Crafting Joanne has some fantastic candy to give away as her blog is almost 1 year old :) She is a DT member for a few different challenge blogs, and once you see her work you will know why! Incredibly talented, her work is so inspiring. If you have time pop over and see for yourself! xx

Is anyone else having trouble with blogger? I couldn't up load photo's on my last post, and I'm not seeing the followers on anyone else's blogs...

I've been busy...

Good afternoon to you all out there in blogland!! I've got a couple of cards to show you, that I've been making over the past few evenings, I will go backwards in the order I made them, and I'll try and keep it short and sweet :)
The sketch for this card comes from ICS Sketch #26. Sentiment reads "The path to greatness is along with others - Baltasar Gracian". I wanted to use the basic grey 'urban prairie/meadow' bird paper for this one, and based my colours around that. I think we could use it as an engagement card for friends who recently got engaged.

My next card is for a couple of challenges, the DT sketch is from Bizzy Becs new challenge site Creatalicious Challenges and if anyone is interested Bec and Cheryl are looking for a couple of DT members so pop over and have a look! There is so much amazing talent out there, but I thought I'd give it a go anyway :) I must also mention if you are in Australia, Bec has an online store filled with heaps of goodies at fantastic prices and unbelievable postage deals. I'm also using the colour challenge from UYS (please excuse my pink flower but I had nothing else that would work ), over at Cute Card Thursday they want to see eyelets, and Day 143 - keep it to yourself over at 365 Cards

This card is for the sketch #125 at CPS, and CCC wanted to see some polka dots! It's a tri-fold card so there is lots of room inside for writing.
Last I have a love card that I didn't think I was going to be happy with, I'm just not big on red so this was a real challenge for me... and the first few attempts went in the scrap box :( its for 365 Cards Day 142 - Movie Monday. It's a colour challenge, but I don't have any black card stock so I just covered a white card with black paper. I picked up a bag of rhinestone buttons at spotlight for 50c! I do love a bargain :)
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you enjoyed my cards as much as I enjoyed making them! Please leave a comment if you have time then I can come visit you too! Happy blogging xx

More cards for July

Good afternoon. Some how the morning has passed me by and all of a sudden it is lunch time! I will quickly post 2 more cards I have made to catch up on the challenges over at 365 Cards
Day 130 - that tickles me.
The only thing funny about this card is how bad it is. I am no good at trying to be funny, believe me... I've been working on different ideas for this challenge for over a week and I officially give up trying. The stamp is from penny black, and I coloured him with my tombo markers that I dont really like and wish I hadn't bought. I'd rather colour with my derwents. The lady at the Scrapbooking shop said it would take practice to get used to the markers, I dont have time for practice lol... I just want to be good at using them now.
Day 133 - Imagine this: bubbles
Well... I'm almost happy with this card. I cant draw fishes lol, and the practice ones were better. I found the little blue 'bubble' stickers in k-mart over the weekend and with the bubble challenge in the back of my mind I thought they would be perfect :) my original plan was the card to be the shape of a fish bowl. I might try that when I have more time.
Thanks for stopping by, and if you think there is anyway I could have improved on my 'funny' card please let me know.
I need all the help I can get! :D
Happy blogging xx

Sunday, July 19, 2009

Well I didn't have much time for card making this weekend, so I've just finished off this card while watching the footy with John, he kept calling out 'look at this' so I thought it would be easier to just take what I needed to the loungeroom. Then I ran outside to catch the last bit of sunlight! I've followed Laura's sketch #30 from 2Sketches4You and one of the Challenges from 365 Cards. I would love to hear what you think!
Day 138 - she said, and I quote.
The quote reads "kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see." - Mark Twain.

I printed out a few differnt quotes that I found online, then I searched for a sketch to use it with, so you may see more cards with quotes here soon!

Thanks for stopping by, please stop by the Challenge blogs if you have time and see the Fab work from the DT's.
Happy Blogging! xx

Day 135

Hi again, I'm back with another card for 365 Cards. Put it together last night while watching Spicks and Specks with John on the ABC it's so funny and I do enjoy a good laugh :) which reminds me I still have to complete day 130.... well here is Day 135 - on the outside looking in
I've used WorldWin Treasures natural cardstock for the base, then put a layer of Dena patterned paper on top. The spotted paper comes from american crafts, Cherish stamp is from stampin' up and I've heat embossed it. I also used my fiskars heart template and shapecutter to make the heart and popped it up on some double sided foam tape, and trimmed some plastic from some lettering packaging to make the window.
Do you think its too plain? I feel like its missing something but I dont know what.
Thanks for stopping by, I do appreciate it! Happy blogging xx

Love is in the air...

Bad, bad me. I had all intentions of the house being super clean when John got home from work today because he has been super nice to me lately... but I am so easily distracted, I've had a lovely afternoon hopping around in blogland.
Oh well maybe tomorrow I'll be a little more motivated and turn the computer on only when I'm finished :)
Anyways here is the card I made for 365 Cards. It also fits the stamp challenge at UYS which is a super easy challenge this week so be sure to hop over and check it out! The DT there have some inspiring work to show you! And the challenge #23 at Crafty Creations is 'birds'. I've put it all on the fab sketch #19 from Papertake Weekly.
Whew 4 challenges on 1 card, thats a first for me :)
Day 136 at 365 cards -What is black white and red all over?
I'm going to give it to my sister, she is coming down for the weekend and we're going to look at bridesmaid dresses on Saturday morning!!!! Excitment plus!!! Then she is going to an engagement party that night, so I thought she may need a card. Hope she likes it :)
I've used WorldWin Treasures crimson red for the base, ribbons from spotlight, the red spotty paper is american crafts, unsure where the birds come from, but I heat embossed them but I only have clear powder will have to invest in some black becasue I can slightly see thru them to the spots. bag of blooms and the bitty bag are where my florals are from, and rhinestone brads from scrap and stamp attack. I hand wrote the sentiment 'love is in the air'
As always would love to hear what you think and if you comment I can come visit you too! Thanks for stopping by and happy blogging xx

Clips for UYS

Here I am with a project for the 'clips' challenge over at the wonderful Use Your Stash blog. It's a little late... as they have a new (and super easy) challenge up this week. John was such a sweety he spent about 15 minutes going thru his shed to find me some clips becasue I have none in my stash. He found one old icky hair clip under the fridge and some of these funk little aligator sorta clips. As soon as I saw them I had an idea! A shopping list for the fridge! All I did was trim my A4 navy card in half and add 2 large peices of magnet to the back and decorate the front with buttons and a pretty flower :) trimmed some lined paper which is held on with 2 of the clips he gave me and its complete! I sure am pleased with the result, and now John can write what he needs from the supermarket and I wont forget! And did I mention the new challenge over at UYS is easy-peasy? Why dont you pop over and have a look!

Thanks for stopping by, Happy blogging xx

day 125 and 134

Good morning, I was worried I wouldnt have time to post until tonight because John is home from work today and I dont want him to think that all I do is blog and craft while he's at work. Luckily he has ducked into Stratford to get some pipe to fix the blockage leading to our tank that we discovered on the weekend.
Here are 2 cards I made last night for two challenges over at 365 Cards hope you like them!
Day 125 card with a closure, the ribbon goes right around and ties at the right.
Day 134 Super Sketchy Sunday, I love working with sketches and after throwing around a few ideas this is what I came up with, and you know how sometimes you just make something that gives you that feeling of acomplishment? well I got that from this card. I love working with craft brown cardstock and pink brown and white always look fab together. I tried to get a close up of the cute little button duck I used to hold my flowers together but I cant get the camera to focus. I really wanted to put {sweet} as my sentiment, but have no small t's and only 1 small e left in this white chipboard, and the capitals didn't look right. I may have to invest in some alphabet dies for my bigkick... so expensive tho and I really should be saving for October not spending... maybe I'll take a quick look on ebay :P
As always I would like to thank you so much for stopping by, and I would LOVE to know what you think of my cards, and would like to wish you all Happy Bogging xx

3 More

Good morning, here are 3 more cards I've made following the Challenges over at 365 Cards
Day 124- Computer generated (Image and sentiment)
Day 129 - Stitches. all the green is hand stitched, I printed some leafy flourishes off my computer clipart and poked holes thru to the card so i would know where to sew, it worked much better than my first attempt of owls, but Aimee liked them so i let her have them :)
Day 131 - ad inspired. Not how I pictured it in my head... but I wanted to get a couple done in one sitting :)

Thanks for stopping by and if you head over to 365 Cards you can find out more about entering 'Shortcuts week' and going in the draw for a great prize. Happy blogging xx

Carol's Sketch Fun!!

Ok... I know I said I was going to get ready for work but I thought I'd already posted this card so I'll just quickly get it up! It's for Carol's fabby sketch #9 over at Carol's Sketch Fun and she has a yummy prize if you are lucky enough to be drawn the winner! She posts a new sketch challenge every second week so you have heaps of time to get your card done! So here is my card:
I did a little distressing, a little heat embossing with my toaster (hehe) and I love these colours together. I've almost finished my thankyou cards from Charlotte's birthday which was back in May :P Any way it was a great sketch to work with, thanks Carol!

Day 123 & 132

Good morning! Posting in a hurry today as I'm working at 11 and dont usually work on a Saturday. Please excuse my bad bad photography it's overcast here and doesn't look like it will clear up. I've got two cards for challenges over at 365 cards:
Day 123 - white space. I've followed the sketch and directed all my pretty to the blackened spaces. Pop over to 365 cards to see the sketch!
Day 132 - picture this. (I know I'm not going in order but I just make them as I get an idea for them... so we had to make a card based on a photo of a birthday cake and how it inspired us, I started with the yellow because the icing on the cake was yellow and I've used a cake stamp... the star candles were bright which is why I went for the bright colours.

Well thanks for stopping by and would love to hear what you think! I'm going to get ready for work now woopee! I am excited, that wasn't sarcastic, I do like working it's a good job and I work with nice people lol Happy blogging xx

Day 126,127 and 128

Well I haven't been doing too much card-making of late, trying to finish up our wedding invitations but I still have 4 to print becasue John is not sure weather we are inviting couples... anyway I've made 36 wishing well poems and put the directions on the other side and quite happy with how they have turned out!
Anyway this morning once the breakfast dishes were done I thought I'd sit down and see if I could get a couple of cards done. They are all from 365 cards
Day 126 is 'show your true colours' Red white and Blue on your card. Even tho I'm not American I stuck with the same colours, our flag also has blue red and white but I consider our colours to be green and gold, especially in sports and such. Usually the longest part for me is choosing the paper to use, but since it was pretty much already chosen this card came together pretty quickly (besides the bow it took ages to get it to sit right lol) and I am quite pleased with how it turned out! Day 127 is 'super sketchy sunday' and when I saw the sketch I wasn't really sure what to do. I flipped it on the side and I decided to go with another thankyou card since I still have 2 to do from Charlotte's first birthday, and chose Autumny sort of colours as Charlotte is an Autumn baby. Day 128 is a card recipe
  • 1 5x5 Card1 Rub-on image
  • 2 Buttons
  • 1 Piece of patterned paper
  • 1 piece of ribbon - NO BOW
  • 1 Sentiment inside the card

My sentiment on the front of card is a rub-on (just not an image) I didn't read it properly so I hope it still counts! it reads 'as you get older three things happen, the first is your memory goes, and I can't remember the other two... Sir Norman Wisdom". Its for a friend who's birthday is coming up, I hope she likes it! And thankyou for stopping by hope you like my cards! Happy blogging xx
