Some exciting news!!

Good morning! I have some very exciting news to share!
Well I'll start from the start... one of Aimee's friends from kinder and her Mum (Kristen) just moved into a new house, so I made a 'happy new house' kinda card (if you're a reader of my blog you may remember it), and Kristen was in a gift store and the lady (named Julie) who owns it was saying how she might stock some gift cards and wrapping paper, and Kristen says well I just happen to have a card in my bag that a friend made me... Julie liked it and asks Kristen pass on her card and to ask me to come in!!! So I went in Thursday and she said she would like to sell my cards in her store!!!!!!! Woweee :) so I'm going to make up as many as I can, and take them into her next Thursday and see if she likes them and thinks they are suitable and will sell etc. Haven't discussed price yet, and I have absolutley no idea! I think it depends on what she thinks they are worth too, but I've worked out each would cost me around 70 cents in materials, thats using card stock as the base, so I might see if I can find something cheaper then I can use more embellishments :)
Here are a few I have made so far, I'm pretty happy with most of them but would love to hear what you think!!
And this 18th card would have to be my favourite so far, I think the black and white is very elegant.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you're all having a fab day!! Happy Blogging xx

Charlottes 1st Birthday

Good afternoon! Finally got my camera to work, could have been the fact I put flat batteries in it... lol here is a LO I created last night using inspiration from the new challenge over at UseYourStash, I've used contrasting colours, but seem to have misplaced my box of chipboard (as it's only a small box...) so went with some vinyl stickers until I'm organised. I've also used the fab sketch from If the shoe fits...Scrap it! from August 16th. The Shoe is havin a make-over in September and will be searching for a fresh Design Team, so if that interests you please pop over and check it out!
Thanks for stopping by, and as always I would love to hear what you think of my work, and if you have time stop by both challenge blogs and check out the fab work from the ladies on both the DT's! Happy Blogging xx

While searching for the best price to purchase some Copic sketch (in Australia) I came across this amazing blog, belonging to Marianne Walker. Detailed instructions and ideas on how to better use copics.
I know there are some of your out there who are amazing when it comes to using these, such as Stephanie and Rach, who are two ladies who are fabulous in card making, with the most amazing images I have seen, and I hope to as talented as one day, but I know I have alot of practice ahead of me ;)
Anyway I just thought if there was anyone out there interested in copic colouring, they might find Marianne's site very useful! Still waiting for my batteries to charge! Be back later with my LO xx

An Award from Nikki

Good morning, I had hoped to show you a LO I completed last night, but my camera is playing up. It's my birthday next week and I am having a hard time deciding on weather I would like a new camera or some copics... John says it's my choice lol it's a hard one!
I juat wanted to share a lovely award I recieved from Nikki. Thanks so much Nikki, and I hope to see more of your work soon!
I'd like to pass it on to the following 8 lovely ladies who's blogs I do enjoy dropping into:

BJ Mama

Annie B

Thanks for stopping by and once I've recharged the camera batteries, I'll be back with my LO for the challenge over at UYS!!

Sketch Girl 3

Here is my take on sketch number 3, over at the fab new sketch blog Sketch Girl. Pop over and check it out!
It's a birthday card for Johns friend Jason who is turning 33 I think, which is why there's no frills or hearts or bling lol. I think I'd like to have another go with this sketch making a girly card, it's a great sketch with lots of possibilities. I've used the funky striped paper that came in an awesome blog candy pack I won on Gloria's blog Scraps of Life! If you have time, be sure to check out her blog, she is on the DT at 365 cards (among others) and has some amazing creations :)
Also it's like summer here today so John and I cooked a BBQ for lunch and the girls played outside in their summer dresses :) makes it hard to believe there is still another 1 week of winter left. Bring on summer I say! :)

The first photo is Aimee and I, the second is John and Charlotte taken after he had been holding his arm up clicking his fingers so she would look in the direction of the camera, and in this photo she was trying to see if she could do it too :) defienatley one for the scrapbook album I think :) Thanks for stopping by and would love to hear what you think! Happy blogging xx

Not too girly...

Good Monday morning! I'm squeezing in a bit of blogging while Charlotte is snoozing and Aimee is glued to the cartoons on TV. I've got 2 cards to show you today! The first one is a fathers day card for my Dad, following the challenge over at the new monthly Challenge blog Creatalicious Challenges to use brown and metal when making something for Dad. Here in Australia, Fathers Day is the first Sunday in September. I was born on fathers day in 1984 and every year I hear "you were the best thing any Dad could ask for" lol .Now that I've made a card I just have to think of something to get him. He has just bought a new car so maybe some seat covers if he hasn't bought any before then. My Dad is a tad forgetful on occasion, so I thought this sentiment was suitable and still meaningful.
I've used 2 antique gold heart shaped brads, 8 silver eyelets and a 'made with love' heart shaped charm. The brown paper is from Stampin' up. The senitment reads "The next best thing to knowing someting, is to know here to find it - Samuel Johnson"
My second card also started out as a fathers day card, this time for John, but I just dont know now. I think I'll try and make something else, and this will be my 'back-up' if I cant make anything I like better lol. And I'm worried he will think this one is a bit girly so I might see if I can find a stamp on Thursday maybe fishing or something. I followed the sketch over at Carols Sketch Fun and her fab new sketches are posted every fortnight.
Everything for this card comes from my stash, and I've used my swiss dots embossing folder and a 'made with love' charm on this one too. The senitment reads "It is not how much you do, but how much Love you put into the doing that matters - Mother Teresa"

Thanks or stopping by, and as always I would love to hear what you think! Happy blogging xx

a LO and a card :)

Hi again :)
Well it's getting very late, I accidently chatted on the phone to my sister for over half an hour lol I only planned to be on the phone for 20mins max then get back to my blogging since John has fallen asleep on the couch, he has a blanket on his knees like an old granny so I snuck out and took a photo lol I'm in such a lovey mood lately lol I should make a start on some wedding vows before it wears off!
First up is a card for Day 160 - Lovely Lace over at 365 cards. The photos are so so so bad and I amlost embarresed to post them but I dont know if I will have another chance until Friday morning. I've used my new Fiskars border punch :) and some assorted laces I bought from the 50c per metre bin at spotlight a month or so ago. I knew they were going to come in handy somewhere! I'm still not super keen on this card tho.
Flash on
Flash off
Next I have a LO following the challange at UseYourStash they have some super fun challenges that you can use for cards, LO's altered items, and if you would like a chance to feature as a guest designer pop over and find out how! You have until the end of the month.
I've got the frame (which came from the bargain bin at scrap and stamp attack last week) on my photo, 4 antique gold heart shaped brads and 'cherish' is stamped in ink and I've distressed the white oval and heart and inked the edges to make it match the base a bit more. base paper is from Dena I bought a heap on ebay super cheap :) full of pretty patterns and spots.
Anyway bedtime for this little duck, I have so much house work planned for tomorrow, I want to re-arrange the girls room and ours while John is at work... but I cant tell him incase I dont get it done lol.
Thanks for stopping by, if you have time please do leave me a comment so I can come visit you too! Oh and Happy blogging! xx

Can you help me?

Hello again, just a quick post before I head into Bairnsdale to meet the celebrant who will marry John and I in 2 months and 4 days lol I'm not counting or anything...
Anyway I remember a little while ago I saw some Digital Images of a little boy and a little girl riding horses, cowboys... and I'm pretty sure they were around $6 each... the money for them was to support something... I have a really bad memory. Anyway when I went back through my browsing history to find them I was un-successful.
If anyone knows what I'm talking about I'd really appreciate the link or even if you can point me in the right direction. Thanks for your time xx

I'm ready for Summer!

Well here in Australia we are still a month away from spring, and already I am wishing summer was here! I've made a card using the colour challenge from Colour Create, I think it's got a nice summery feel to it. I've used the sketch from 365 Cards and one of my Penny black stamps, my favourite out of my smallish stamp collection. I'll link it up to the Summer Challenge at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge Blog. I saw some clear PB stamps in the scrap and stamp attack store on Wednesday but not in my budget this week :(
I've coloured him with derwents, and I think I am going to see about some copic sketch markers very soon... there are just so many colours to choose from I have trouble narrowing it down, and becasue I've never used them before I dont really know what I'm going to need, if anyone can suggest a list of must-haves I would greatly appreciate it :)
As always I would love to hear what you think! Thanks so much for stopping by, and Happy Blogging xx

I've also used the colour challenge from Colour Create Challenge this week, pink green and orange. Having the pink and orange together really scared me at first, but I like the way it turned out :)

If you haven't been there before I suggest you pop over and see the new challenge that will be posted on Monday, the ladies there are heaps of fun!!
I haven't been to the craft store for over 2 weeks and there was so much new stuff I wanted to look at yesterday but I was only on a ten minute break from work, so I'll have have to do some serious shopping when I get my tax return, and it's my 25th birthday coming up in a few weeks, so keep an eye out for some birthday candy :) Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you like my card!
