Last card...

Well just until I get home anyway lol... It's based on the clean and simple: Fall-to Layout 60. Didn't follow it exact (and I haven't used stamps lol) but I liked the line of rhinestones, and with the bags of various sized buttons I buy, I have so many little ones left over. I used up a few here :)
Julie asked me for a sympathy card doesn't doesnt have the word sympathy on it... will see what she thinks of this one later today.

Thanks for stopping in and would love to hear what you think!

Happy blogging xx

Just a quickie...

A Birthday card for Carols Sketch Fun. Carol has a beautiful prize up for grabs and the sketch challenge runs for a fortnight so pop over and check it out!
Also a gift tag for day 204 - Super Sketchy Sunday at 365 cards. Funky sorta sketch, and the DT have made some fabulous cards using it!
I took two photos becasue I thought it looked better on the darker background. What do you think?

I whipped them up last night around midnight... and then made a few more, not for challenges tho... Lol when I'm on a roll making cards that I like, with not much indecision I try to keep going. So tired today tho! Having a hair trial for the wedding today... it's getting so close... scary! Well that's all from me today, Thanks for stopping by and Happy blogging xx

Special Birthday Wishes

is the sentiment on my card :) I've combined the challenging colour challenge over at 365 Cards Day 205, and the inside out challenge at Creative Card Crew. CCC have the fabulous Whiff of Joy to sponsor them this week and the prize is a beautiful Autumn Charlotte stamp. I want it! lol if you are a regular reader you may know my youngest daughter is named Charlotte, and when I see things with my girls names I like to have them lol so even if I dont win I will pop to bizzy becs and see if I can order one.
Now... back to the card... Gloria's DT card at 365 cards was fantastic! I copied her idea of the half pearls in the button, it gives them a totally new look, I love it! I saw a bow trying tutorial link over at my friend Nikki's blog and follwed it to Jami's blog.
I dont actually own one of those bow tying template thingys.... so i sorta just made my own out of cardboard... shh...
I continued the same colours inside, distressing the edges and all. I'm very happy with the outcome :)
Thanks for stopping by and happy blogging xx

Use Your Stash...

...You know you want to...
Well here is a card for the 3rd September Challenge over at Use Your Stash (where I just happen to be a guest designer for next month!!!!!!!) and the fun new challenge is a recipe of sorts...
1 piece of paper (cardstock or patterned paper, not including your base)
+ 3 stars
+ some chipboard
__________________
1 AMAZING creation!
Sounds like fun? I think so!
I found the 2 big star buttons in a bag from the fab pack the ladies from UYS sent me earlier in the year for participating in their blog hop, and 2 more in a bag of beutron buttons I bought for Aimee... she didn't mind sharing lol. The star paper came in a blog candy from the fabulous Gloria, and I also used my new Martha Stewart star border punch. A boy card wouldn't you say? I'm very happy with how it turned out!
Thanks for stopping by and do pop over to UYS because if you can complete all the challenges for the month you could be chosen for Guest designer for November!!
Wouldn't that be exciting!!!
Happy blogging xx

*Yawn* Just thought I'd post these before I go to bed...

I'm super tired... too many late nights in a row I think. I've just made these 2 cards and wanted to post them now because I'll have plenty of housework tomorrow, and it's holidays so Aimee home all day. We may craft together if she wants when Charlotte has a nap but she has been favouring board games alot lately. So... back to the cards :)
Sorry for the bad pic lol it really is bad... I've followed the recipe of: 2 Paper's, 3 Flowers, 2 Brads, 1 Button & 1 Ribbon. I wasn't sure weather I was allowed 3 layered flowers so I stuck with one flower... 3 layers :) oh and the redipe comes from The creative card crew challenge blog where they have a fab christmas stamp set from fairy doodles for a prize this week.
And this card is for Cupcake craft challenges blog. The challenge this week is DISTRESSING TECHNIQUES! They would love to see your torn edges, sanding or sponging! Whatever technique you choose to create a distressed look to your project, they want to see it! yep I did just copy and paste that from their blog lol so lazy tonight ;) So I opened up my scissors and dragged the blade back down the flowered paper, I do love this technique. And I've inked around the vanilla scalloped oval to make it stand out from the flowered paper... I wanted to add flowers but dont have the right colours to match, and I think maybe the patterned paper is enough anyway...
Ok I think thats it from me tonight *yawn* lol going to put an extra blanket on my bed tonight too, I need a good sleep. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your... day... or night where ever you are lol :) would love to hear what you think of my cards if you have time to leave a comment! Happy blogging xx
PS you may have noticed I fixed my counter down the bottom, it mysteriously jumped from 3000 and something to 11000, but it had well over 12000 when I put her back. Keep an eye out for some candy coming soon to celebrate!! I'm so overwhelmed at having so many hits and look at my followers... 44? lol do I see clearly? Thank you all ever so much you are too kind :)

Sweet Birthday

Good monring! I've got a card to show you for the fab new sketch over at Friday Sketchers combined with the fun colour challenge over at OurCreativeCorner.
I'll be popping it into the box for Julies shop :)
Thanks for stopping by, just a quick post this morning :)
See you back here later xx

button for a boy?

Hi! I'm back with a card for day 198 - make a mosaic over at 365 cards. It was supposed to be a boys card but I didn't know what to put besides the button and ribbons... so I just tried to match in with the colours on the paper. I would love to know what you think because John is not much help (he says it's too girly) lol... I say he's just not a 'card man'.
The happy birthday stamp is Calligraphy from Artee Stamps Australia, I've stamped it in bronze and embossed with a clear powder. The patterned paper that I cut into inch squares ( like Gloria did) is Kaisercraft Military. The thing I find with buying double sided paper is I get it home and wish I bought 2 sheets because I can't decide which side to use!
Well thanks for stopping by and I've got some super exciting news... I've got a guest DT spot over at Use Your Stash next month!!! If you have a chance please pop over and check out the great weekly challenges! Weather you like card-making, scrapbooking, ATCs or altering items the challenges are open for interpretation!
Happy blogging xx

Good morning!! and it is a good morning :)

Last night I went to a card-making night with a lovely lady named Kim who works across from me in the centre (and knows my Dad lol) and she sells stampin' up products. pictured below are the christmas items I made for only $10!! I also got to spend the evening with 4 other friendly ladies, and we played around with Kim's goodies :) I ended up ordering the 'tree trimmings' stamp set, which is used on the purple card, but I'm going to make some in blue and vanilla, I think they would be lovely! Anyway I had a great time even though I was a little nervous about not knowing anyone else. I'm hoping to attend one of Kim's stampin' Saturdays... probably not until after the wedding tho :)
ohh...... and that winner of the Martha Stewart butterfly punch goes to....... Regina!!!!!
If this is you please email me johnandjess@wideband.net.au with your postal address and I will get it sent out early next week.
I used random.org to select the winner :)
Thanks so much to everyone who entered and please do pop back after the weekend and I may have a little something else to give away ;)
Now to the boring bits lol... housework is calling my name nice and loud so I'm going to set the timer and hopefully see you back here soon with a couple of cards! Happy blogging xx

A small card

I'm just trying out something new (to me) as Julie said she would like some smaller gift tag cards for her shop, so I've bought a kreate-a-lope which I'm still having trouble with lol to make smaller envelopes, and for this card I've used the largest of my new Scallop oval nesties...
I'm entering it at the challenge over at Die Cut Dreams where the newest challenge is tea for two. my stamp and sentiment are from the 'like it a latte' set from stampin' up. I thinkit's cute because it's little. Would love to hear your thoughts on it? Thanks for stopping by and Happy blogging.
Oh and Susie and Vikki are looking for 2 DT members so pop over if you want to know more!!

pretty patchwork

Hi again, second post for today? I've got another card to show you that I whipped up over lunch. I'm entering it in the challenges at Charisma Cardz-patchwork challenge and Crafty Creations-embossing challenge.
I've just spotted the new challenge over at Simon Says and it's a recipe! 3 embellies, 2 papers and 1 image. Too easy! The DT have some fab stuff to show you too! I'll be back with another card soon! Thanks for stopping by :)

2 challenges... 2 cards

Good morning! I have two cards to show you today... and maybe a couple more later after I've caught up on the housework! First I've already completed the challenge set over at Creatalicious! Bec and Cheryl asked to see a creation with this colour combo: pink or plum, with burgundy and green. Also add some sort of lace, ribbon or fibre etc. It's not often I can get the challenge done on the day it has been posted :)
Next up I've got a card I made following Kazans fantastic sketch over at 2Sketches4You.
I'll pop these too into the box for Julie's store on Thursday... feel's good to be getting a few done. I'm off to a card night on Thursday with Kim who sells stampin' up stuff. I believe we're making Christas cards... and I've never been to one of these before so I'm a tad nervous because I'll only know the one person. But I'm sure it will be lots of fun :)
I best go hang out my washing and rinse up the breakfast dishes lol housework is never ending hey :) Thanks for stopping by and just a little reminder only one day left to enter my MS punch give-away if you haven't already! Please see pic at top left if you want to enter. Happy blogging and hope to be back soon! xx

I just LOVE a good sketch :)

Just a quick post before I start getting ready for tomorrow, can't say I'm a fan of Mondays... I could be if John didn't have to go to work. Anyway I've based this card on the Fun sketch for Day 197 - Super Sketchy Sunday! over at 365 Cards.
I know the flower isn't part of the sketch, I didn't line my scallop nestie up properly and missed a few bumps, but I'm not one to waste so the flower is covering up my mistake. I like it anyway :) and such a fun sketch to work with, I may use it again!
Have a great night and thanks for stopping by! Happy blogging xx

Friends and Coffee

So John riding his motor bike in the backyard + Charlotte waking up = one mad Mumma lol John has decided to escape my crazy and head out on the bike for a little while. But thats not really what I came online for lol I have a card I finally finished for the challange over at 365 Cards Day 187 - Label it! and I found it a challenge.
I searched my cupboards for a label, then the fridge, then at the supermarket lol. Eyeing off my coffee jar this morning wishing I had bought a smaller jar I remembered the spare coffee in the cupboard and the lable was just the right size! Riva coffee! Added a scalloped oval in a pack I recieved from the wonderful ladies over at Use Your Stash with "Coffee tastes better with a friend" stamped on it. Paper from stash, choclate brown ribbon, jute string and an orange button. Happy with the result! Thanks for stopping by, I'm off to see what else I can get done before John is back! Happy blogging xx

Can you help me?

Hi! Well I finally had some time to sit down and make a couple of cards tonight, but they're not for challenges so I haven't taken photos. Earlier in the week I purchased Sizzix Alphabars Vowel Play and I have a Sizzix Big Kick, can anyone direct me to a site that will explain how to make them work together, scrapbook shop lady says you can use them together but my poor girl doesnt seem to like them lol a bit big and I dont want to crack my cutting plates by just jamming it all through. If anyone can help I'd muchly appreciate it! Thanks xxx

Todays Challenge...

Well for me the challenge was house work today lol I set the timer and worked my butt off for 45 mins... and then did the dishes, cleaned the bathroom and vacuumed.
Sadly that means there is no time left for making cards or blogging as Aimee finishes kinder in 40mins and I still have to make Charlottle lunch, peg out another load of washing, and pack the bags for Grandma's. Oh and find my work uniform... lol I wonder where that is....?
Anyway there is only one month left until I can call myself a wife lol so I thought I had better start acting like one :) hopefully John is pleased, or at least notices what I accomplished this morning :) and hopefully I'm not too tired after work and get a few cards done, I bought some supplies yesterday and I really want to play with them now. But work I must. Sorry about the boring post lol
Hope you all have a fab weekend!
Love Jessica :) xx

80th card

OK just a quick one before I head into town. I've followed the challenging sketch over at 365 Cards on Day 190. Flipped the sketch on its side. Choose happieness

Good morning! I've got a card here to show you following the great sketch over at Mojo Monday. If you have visited there before you may know the first sketch of the month is Contest time with prizes!! Who doesn't want to win something for free! And the verve stamps are fantastic! I've got a few on my wishlist :)
If you want to hop over and try the sketch on for yourself, you have until Sep 13th to be entered in the prize drawing.
I was actually attempting an 80th birthday card but it just didnt look right so I've gone with one of my favourite quotes, "Happieness is not something you postpone for the future; it's something you design for the present." - Jim Rohn. I just typed it up in word and printed it off. Loving my new scallop and oval nesties :) how did I live without them! LoL.... Ok I'm off to try another card for an 80th as I'm taking another lot of my cards in to Julie today and 80th is one she mentioned last week :) oh and if you want to enter my candy I've got the pic on the top right linked to the post, becasue I dont know how to make it stay at the top.... ok thats enough from me, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you do enjoy your day! Happy blogging xx

2 sketches + 365 cards

Hi again... another 2 cards I made at lunch time, the first is for Day 192 - so sweet, over at 365 cards, and I've followed Lauras fun new sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You . Once I decided on a sentiment and some colours, this card came together pretty quickly, I wanted to do a bit of stiching on the lower left side of the circle, but stitching can wait until the weekend when I have more time!
My second card is following the bonus sketch from Latisha, also over at 2 Sketches 4 You. When I saw the challenge over at The Cuttlebug Spot was birds, I wanted to use this basic grey paper I've had sitting on the desk for weeks! I still feel like it's missing something but cant put my finger on it....Thanks for stopping by, if you have time and want to enter to win a martha stewart classic butterfly punch, please click on the pic at the top right on my blog. Happy blogging xx

for a charming dad?

Just another quick post to show you the card I made for John's Dad for fathers day, which is the first Sunday in September here in Australia. I forgot I hadn't posted this already, it's for day 189 over at 365 Cards. It's got a little heart charm there, and a leaf hanging in behind it. I tried to make it... well... you know, not too girly lol I need more practive at mens/boys cards.
I'll also show you card Aimee made for John's dad...
...and a couple of photos I took on Sunday. Thanks for stopping by, if you have time please enter my birthday give-away here!!!

TTS #71

**Edited with better photo**
Hi and thanks for stopping by. I just found a blog with a faaaaab sketch that I wanted to try out, and make a card to add to the collection I will take to show Julie on Thursday. So the blog is called Triple The Sketch and it's sketch #71 (incase you cant tell) and if you want to leave me a comment I would really appreciate it, and I would also appreciate your honesty! If there is some way I can improve on my cards I am open to suggestions, I think it needs a sentiment on front but I have nothing that suits (any excuse for shopping) so I'll pick up some lettering and such tomorrow when I go blog candy shopping :) If you haven't been to Triple the sketch before I suggest you hop over and have a look at the stunning creations from the DT, they have great LOs and awesome cards too! I think I even spotted an ATC? Anyway thanks for stopping by, hope you're all having a fab day :) or night lol Happy blogging xx

Kazans Sketch #34

Good morning, here is another card I've made following the fab sketch over at 2Sketches4You. The DT have some fantastic work to show you, using Living Rooms Direct beautiful furniture for inspiration, be sure to pop over and check out their stunning cards!
I started out with this lamp...
and ended up with this card...
Thanks for stopping by, as always I would love to hear what you think? And it's my 25th birthday tomorrow so pop back to find out what I'm giving away to celebrate :) Happy blogging xx
