My Brown eyed Girl...

Good afternoon! Well after a grumpy old man turned the light off on me while I was browsing my card magazines, so he could watch the cricket, I went to bed early last night, and I completely forgot to post my LO here for Challenge #108 over at Sketches! {by tamara}.
It comes from Karen, one of the Design Team Members over at the Sketches! blog and here is what she asks for...
Make a Layout and use this for your Journaling: Journal about an interesting characteristic or trait of someone you love.
If you decide to play along with the journalling challenge please be sure to link it up in the comments section on the Sketches! blog so we can come have a look and leave you some lovely comments :)
I choose Aimee and her big brown eyes. Originally I wanted to do a LO of John and his beard, but... couldn't get a photo of him after I told him thats what I was doing.... I dont think he wanted to be scrapped :P
so anyway here is my LO:
I've used all left over lettering from my stash, trying to clear out the old to make way for the new... not getting very far tho. The swirly stamp is from baroque motifs stampin' up set, flowers from kaiser craft and rhinestones brads from my LSS which is sadly shutting at the end of the month :(

Oh and some other exciting news? Sketches! {by tamara} is now on facebook! Pop over to the blog and click on the link. Sadly I gave up facebook a while ago as I found it toooooo addictive... and along with crafting and blogging I just dont have enough time in the day (or night!) for them all.

Thanks for stopping by, and if you have time please check out my candy, link above this post and I've used Mr linky this time to make it super easy to enter!

Happy blogging xx

Audrey's sketch!

I'm back with a card for Audrey's sketch for Day 353 over at 365 Cards!
Julie asked me for some cards with no sentiments, I'm sure I used to do this all the time, but now I'm having trouble, They just dont look finished. I thought maybe I could use some sentiments like 'just for you' which could be used for more than one occasion....
anyway here is my card:

Stampin' up cardstock for the base, yummy cosmo cricket 'earth love' pattern paper, stampin' up card for the scallop circles, kaisercraft for the flowers and the brad and rhinestones come from my LSS.

Well I'm off to do some housework now... wish me luck lol!

Thanks for stopping by and happy blogging xx

For the love of Buttons!!

Over at my 5 year old Aimee's Challenge Blog, she has picked buttons for the challenge this fortnight. Her card is just so damn cute I had to show you here...
I am not brave enough to even think about using a colour scheme like this! I love it!
I must say she was a tad disappointed that no kids entered their cards last week but I told her not to worry. So maybe if you have a child who loves to craft with you then you could pop over and have a look? We have 2 prizes, one for mums (or grandmas, aunties, friends etc..) and one for the little kids. Aimee's idea of course!
She is so funny, I asked her what she wants to do when she grows up, she thinks she would like to be a police. Then she asks what I'm going to do when I grow up... gotta love her... I said I'd like to own a scrap booking shop. She then told me she would come and help clean up the toy area if the kids forgot to pack away before they went home with their Mums... She always leaves the play area neat and tidy when we visit our LSS.
Anyway that's it for me today, off to share some cake and ice cream with my husband :P
Thanks for stopping by and happy blogging xx

3 FUN Sketches!

I must say I am a huge fan of sketches, and this week over at 365 Sketches I am being spoilt for choice! If you enjoy the challenge of a sketch I strongly suggest you pop over and check out the fab work from the DT!
I've got a card for Pams sketch for Day 351!
I've used some yummy cosmo cricket earth love paper (I got a 6x6 mini deck from The stamp spot, link in my sidebar), flowers from kaisercraft, lettering from adornit (also the stamp spot) rhinestones and brad come from my LSS and the shiny yellow paper comes from a cardstock pack in spotlight. Also used my fab scallop circle nesties (from bizzy becs, link in sidebar, awesome prices!)
A card for Glorias sketch on Day 352!

Here I'v used stampin' up chocolate chip cardstock, white card form my stash emossed with cuttlebug swiss dots folder, ribbons are by the meter in spotlight, lettering from adornit, flowers from kaisecraft and button from a huge mixed bad I think the brand if beutron (lost all the packaging). and a card for Kristies sketch on Day 354!

I've used some cardstock I found in the warehouse yesterday, and a pad of A5 pattern sheets from Rosies studio, the brown dotty paper is stampin' up possibly bella rose pack, lettering from adornit (my new favorite thing to use if you couldn't already tell) and buttons beutron and jute string from my stash. Will be posting this last one out to Johns brother hopefully tomorrow, as it's his birthday coming up on the first of March.

Still got to finish of the card for Audreys sketch for Day 353, but hopefully I'll be able to post that up here tonight!
If you haven't already, please pop your name down for my little candy (at the top of my blog) being drawn at the end of the month, I'm using Mr linky to make it super easy! And Aimee will post a new challenge on her blog later this evening too (link in my sidebar), and we will have two new prizes that she picked out yesterday! She is so funny I told her she could pick something for herself too for getting above average for her prep assesment and she chose an animal pompom kit... I thought she would have picked a big bad of buttons or ribbons but she is full of suprises!
Well thanks for stopping by, I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday xx

a happy hello

A happy hello to all you crafters out there!
I've just popped on to show you 2 cards I made today :)

The first is based on sketch #53 over at the ICS blog. I combined it with the colour challenge (Red, Pink, Chocolate, White/off white) over at Colour Create Challenge Blog, but didn't use the extra option of using silver and hearts. Both blogs have some amazing work from their Dt's, and some fab prizes aswell so be sure to pop over and check them out!

My next card is one for 365 Cards - Day 347, a white space challenge. I do so love these challenges that Pam sets! I did find this one a challenge and haven't even added a sentiment... sometimes less is more :) here is a close up!
Pam also has a DT CALL open atm and is looking for 5 creative ladies to join her team. You can read all about it over HERE!
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend! xx

12 Weeks and counting...

Well I almost forgot to tell you all about our exciting news... are you ready?
John and I are expecting another baby :)
We had our 12 week scan yesterday, and the midwife said we are looking at Aug 18th as the due date!
This is why I've been so sick since Christmas, I get horrible morning sickness that lasts all day. I'm really hoping I start to improve so I can get back to crafting on a more regular basis.
And so to celebrate... the baby... not the morning sickness! I've got a little bit of candy to give away!
**Candy now Closed**
So what can you win? This sweet little Rachelle Anne Miller clear stamp 'going fishing', some assorted 6x6 papers and 3 rolls of ribbon. I'll see what else I can find to add before the month is up! I thought some baby things may be appropriate :)
To enter: Please add your name and blog url to Mr Linky... fingers crossed he works as this is the first time I've used it!
Candy is open worldwide, just pop a link back to my candy up in your sidebar please, and I'll draw a random winner on hmm.... lets keep it open until Sunday the 28th of Feb.
I'm now looking forward to the 20 week scan although it seems so far away! We will then be able to find out if it's a baby boy or girl! We have decided it will make renovations and painting ect easier, but we're not fussed boy or girl, the important thing is that it's healthy!!
Thanks for stopping by, happy blogging xx

**We have a Winner!** picked number 14 out of 1-46 and that is Debbie! Congrats Debbie! Please send me your postal address to and I'll get this sent out to you before the end of the week! Thanks to everyone who entered and also for your kind comments, I'll have more exciting baby news in early April :)

the sweetest thing

Good morning crafters!
I think I am probably too late with this one, but I'll pop it up anyway. If you have never been over to Karen Giron's blog The Sweetest Thing... then you are missing out some some amazing inspiration and some fabulous sketches! Karen posts her sketches on Sunday...
I've based this card of her lastest sketch and love how it turned out!

papers are from stampin' up, flowers from kaisercraft, lettering from adorit (you can find a link to the stamp spot in my side bar, Marcia has some fantastic prices). Also used my new circle nesties (available from Bizzy Becs at amazing prices!), swiss dots embossing folder, fiskars boarder punch and a silver pen for the stitched look around the edge.

I was short on time yesterday morning and couldn't be bothered pulling out the sewing machine, plus I think it's still got pink thread from when I made Aimee's library bag...

Thanks for stopping by and I would love to hear what you think! And do pop over and see Karens fabulous blog, she also has some wonderful designers to help inspire you!

Sketches! by tamara # 106

Good morning!
I was going to post this last night but it was so hot and sticky I just watched TV with John in front of the fan instead. I love, love, love this card sketch that the fabulous Tamara gave us to work with this month, so many possibilities!! I can see myself coming back to this sketch again and again!
I've used all stampin' up pattern paper and cardstock, the 'cherish' stamp comes from the baroque motifs stamp set and is stamped with 'old olive', the flowers are kaisercraft and buttons are american crafts 'leaf'. Jute string from my stash. I also used my oval nesties and distressed around the edge of my layers.
Please pop over to the Sketches!{by tamara} blog and check out the amazing work from my fellow DT members, you will be sure to want to try this sketch on for yourself! Make sure to link it up in the comments section so we can come and have a look! Thanks for stopping by and happy blogging xx

2S4Y meets scrappy hours

Good morning! I've got some time, and some mojo so I thought I'd whip up a card for Laura's wonderful new sketch over at 2 sketches 4 you, and I also chose the colour theme from Michelle over at her blog, Scrappy Hours which is black and white plus one. My one, as you can see is yellow!
I've used my new circle nesties (available from Bizzy Becs at amazing prices), adornit lettering (available from The Stamp Spot... both links in my sidebar), bit of stampin' up pattern paper, fiskars border punch, swiss dots embossing folder, and some flowers from kaiser. Black, white and yellow cardstock all comes from Spotlight, the rhinestones and brad both from my stash.
John and I dont do valentines day, he says its too commercial and he would rather suprise me with something nice any day than feel pressured into doing it on Feb 14th lol. I said ok suprise me! Nah he is pretty good, buys me cardmaking magazines every now and then, and $4 avocados... and chocolate. and even eats it for me too! I might make him a little card anyway and pop it in his lunch box on friday :)
Well thanks for stopping by! Do enjoy your Tuesday xx

home sweet home

Hi! I've got another card today, this one is for the challenge over at Bizzy Becs Creatalicious Challenges. Cheryl and Bec wrote... No stamped images, you can stamp sentiments and use punches, diecuts and stickers (anything as long as it is not a stamped image or a digi image). Sounds like a challenge for you? You have until the 14th to get your entries in!
And here is what I came up with :)
I'm also entering it for Day 318 - home sweet home over at 365 Cards. I didn't have anything suitable but then I found a template for the tri-fold card in Vol 14 No 12 of Australian Cardmaking stamping & papercraft.
All the paper on this card is from stampin' up, the flowers from kaiser, and lettering from adornit that I purchased from the stamp spot... there is a link in my sidebar if you want to check out the fantastic prices Marcia offers, and ribbon and brads from my stash.
Ok thats it for me today, my crafting area is in a room at the back of the house and its getting hot in here, the sun shines on it all day and its hit 32 out there and isn't far behind in here. Once we renovate I'm getting a whole room to myself :) I'll set it up all neat and organised so I can take some photos to show you... but it's not for a while yet :( June I think we're planning to make a start.
Well thanks again for stopping by! xx

love for 365

Good afternoon! While my big bubba is napping and my big girl is at school I thought I'd pop on and show you a couple of cards I've been working on this week.
They are both for challenges over at 365 Cards, who may I add, will be having a DT call very very soon!
My first card is for Day 339 love is in the air - to use the word love in your sentiment.
My next card is for Day 340 shape it up - make the heart shape stand out on your card.
Red is not a favourite of mine to work with, but I like it for both these cards. Please pop back tomorrow to see my DT work for the sketches! {by tamara} blog... and then some exciting news and maybe even a bit of candy on Thursday!
Hope you all have a great start to the week! Happy blogging xx
