a few challenge cards :)

Yay I've been crafting!
First up I've got a card for Lauras fab sketch #44 over at 2S4Y. Julie asked for some sympathy cards for her store that don't have the word sympathy on them.
Next I've got a card for day 328 (I'm a frayed knot) over at 365 cards. Using some more of my yummy stampin' up bella rose papers, and some lovely thick ribbon I found in spotlight. I printed the sentiment off the computer.
And a card following the sketch for day 330 over at 365 Cards.
And last but not least another sympathy sort of card not following any challenges. They're all wrapped up ready for Julie now so I'm popping into town to drop them off and also for a blood test :( and doctors appointment :( and grocery shopping.
Aimee starts school next week!!! My baby has grown up so fast! She is super excited and I think we have everything ready! Been looking for some ideas for her lunch box, I think we'll do some baking over the weekend. Mini fruit muffins and vegie sausage rolls sound pretty good to me :) Hope you're all well and having a great week!
Thanks for stopping by and your comments make my day :)

Wedding nerves LO

This weeks Challenge over at the Sketches! {by tamara} blog is a journalling challenge, I chose to write about my pre-wedding nerves.
Journal about something in your life that you have overcome. It can be something very personal and of great importance or something that was a big moment or change in your life. Or it can be something that is more light hearted, maybe not a huge ordeal in your life but still a situation or something that you had to overcome and make it through to get to where you wanted to be or to accomplish what you wanted to accomplish.
My first thought was actually to write about my Mum, who passed in 2003, but to say I have overcome her death, would be a lie.
So I chose something easier to write about.
I must say journalling is usually an after thought for me, I like to work with a colour scheme and embellishments first, and then if there is room I write a few lines and put the date. I suppose the photos I like don't always have a story to go with them... anyway here is what I came up with, and I must say it looks much better in real life ;) my photography seems to be getting worse! lol
Thanks for stopping by and if you decide to try this journalling challenge for yourself be sure to link it up at the Sketches! blog so we can come check it out :) happy blogging xx

You're invited!

Hello :)
I've been slack with my crafting and blogging lately becasue I've been sick, so I just wanted to show you some sample invitations I made up to show my good friend Kate. She is turning 30 in March and I offered to help make invitations. Her favourite colour is pink and I thought usingpink along with black and white would give it a more formal sort of feel. I do hope she likes them :)
The swirly stamp and you're invited stamp are from stampin' up, flowers are kaisercraft, brads and rhinestones from my LSS, buttons from beutron. I also used my swiss dots embossing folder and my sewing machine.
I'll be back later with my DT work for the Sketches! blog, and hopefully I am able to get a few sketches/challenges done this afternoon too! Hope you are all well, and thanks for stopping by :) and happy blogging! xx

Sketches! Card sketch

Good morning Bloggers!

Challenge #103 over at Sketches! by tamara is a fantastic new card sketch!

And here is what I came up with!

I've used a mix of stampin' up papers, fiskars lace border punch, the ticket comes from Bizzy Becs Digis and the sweet image titled soaking up the joy comes from Mo's digital pencil (links to both these stores in my sidebar -->). Ribbon button and rhinestones are from my stash.

Please pop over and see the Amazing work from the fabulous ladies on the DT, I love seeing how we all interpret the challenges differently, and if you try the sketch for yourself be sure to link it up in the comment section so we can all come have a look!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy blogging xx

Mojo meets 365

I've been super productive this afternoon, and have completed projects for 3 challenges :)
I'm only going to show you one today, which is my take on the fab sketch from Mojo Monday and combined with Day 314 - Braiding @ 365 Cards. Usually the Mojo sketches have a circle on them somewhere, and I've only just ordered some circle nesties but this week there is ovals!! I have oval nesties and was able to put them to good use.
This card is for John's Nan who turns 87 on Thursday, I'm taking the girls over in the afternoon for tea and cake :) Aimee asked if we could take party hats, I said that should be fine!
Well thanks for stopping by and hope you are all enjoying your weeks so far!
Please pop back later to see my DT card for the sketch from Sketches! {by tamara}!

My next card is for amother fab sketch, this one comes from Super sketchy sunday at 365 cards day 316 .
For both cards I've used my new stampin' up patterned paper, you'll be seeing alot more of these lately I just love them :) Sorry about my photos they're not great, I love my camera and it's great for taking photos of my girls but I haven't yet worked out how best to photo my cards etc...
Well thanks for stopping by I suppose I should dash off and try to catch up on some house work now :)

~sweet baby card~

It's been 7 days since my last post... It's just been too hot here or Ive been too sick, trying to get in lots of early nights. After 3 days of constant heat and muggy nights we have rain. Not much but better than nothing and now the whole house feels a bit cooler which is nice :) So this week the challenge over at Sketches! {by tamara} is a recipe challenge!

Create a card or layout using the following items:

  • Rub Ons
  • Flowers
  • Bling
You are not limited to only the three items listed. You can use as many items on your layout or cards as you wish. But the minimum on it must be what is listed in the recipe.

I made a happy new baby card :)

The word sweet is a rub-on from a remarks rub-on booklet I recieved in a RAK a while ago. The flower is from Ribtex and the bling are some kaisercraft rhinestones, such a pretty colour green.

Thanks for stopping by, I'm hoping to get a few extra cards done tonight and be back with them tomorrow. Would love to see what you can do with the recipe challenge tho, and remember to link it up over at the Sketches! Blog!

That Hair cut LO

Hello to you all!
Sorry I haven't been updating much over the Chritsmas/New Year period, I've just been so busy or not feeling well. I've made a new years resolution... to learn to take better photos! How about you??
I'm super excited to show you my first DT Layout for the fabulous sketch over at Sketches! by tamara.
New Sketch or Challenge is uploaded each Tuesday.
Week 1: Layout Sketch
Week 2: Recipe Challenge
Week 3: Card Sketch
Week 4: Journaling Challenge
After week 4, the rotation will start over again.
So here is the LO sketch for Jan 5th:
And here is my LO:

I've used American Crafts White cardstock for the base, the pink torn paper comes from my stash, cuttle bug leaves die, kaisercraft paper flowers with buttons and jute string from my stash, and the white puffy letters are thickers, light pink ones are lil' davis if I remember correctly and the other ones in 'cut' I'm not sure. threw out the packaging long ago and trying to use up the last few.

I just love this photo of Aimee, it's been on the top of my pile for scrapbooking for ages! So glad I finally used it :)

Thanks for stopping by, and I really appreciate your comments! Please pop over to the Sketches! Blog and check out the awesome work from the other talented ladies on the DT, and I'm sure Tamara would love to see how you use her sketches for inspiration!!
