cased card!

I've just completed a card for the fab Case an OCC girl challenge, and I found my inspiration from Dana's 'thinking of you' card. While I was looking thru her fabulous card gallery on splitcoast, I spotted this one and it reminded me of the stylised flowers cuttlebug embossing folder that has been tucked at the back of the draw since I bought it, so I thought what a perfect reason to pull it out!

I stuck with the kraft and used a pinky-red colour to mount my embossed piece, the ribbon was from a stampin' up promo a while ago, and I replaced the knot for a crochet flower that you can find in my new etsy shop :) oh and I also used a different sentiment. Quite happy with how this turned out, and less than 10mins to put together!
I'll be back in the morning with a photo... too dark now and time for sleeping anyway!
Thanks for stopping by xx

ColourQ meets 2S4Y :)

Good afternoon Crafty friends!

Here I have a card to share with you following Kazans sketch #55 over at the fabulous 2S4Y blog this week. I teamed it up with the fresh colour combo #38 over at ColourQ. I got the idea to use the doily from the amazingly talented Melissa Bove. Used my fiskars lace punch down the bottom to try and tie it in with the doily... would love to hear what you think!

I really love this sketch I think it's one I will definitely come back to in the future!
Thanks for stopping by, hope you all have some wonderful plans for the weekend xx

Sketch n' Colour #17

*edited with better photo*

Well I have been checking out the challenges at Sketch n' Color Challenge blog for a few weeks now, I think this is the first time I have completed the card before the next challenge is up!

As soon as I saw these colours I knew I wanted to use this lush blue ribbon, I pulled out my Martha Stewart stars boarder punch I've hardly used. The bird is from the Stampin' up 2-step punch and sentiment comes from whimsical wishes set. I used kraft for the base as I haven't got any caramel left. I'm well overdue for new cardstock.

Along with the colours from this week, I used last weeks sketch as my starting point too :) I'd love to share how I folded my ribbon like this, maybe I could make a little video? Would anyone be interested if I did? be honest lol....

Please pop over and check out the lovely cards from Andrea and Nadia at Sketch n' Color, you're sure to be inspired!

Hope you're all enjoying the week so far, we've been keeping busy (and I'm tired lol) only 8 weeks left until bubba number 3 is due so I've always got something to do. Also (finally) putting in the planning permit for our renovation this week... fingers crossed we get it all completed before baby comes!
Have I mentioned we still don't agree on any girls names lol John says everything I like is too old or plain. He likes Brittany. That just reminds me of Brittany Spears. Not that I have anything against her I just want something nice. Like Sarah :) well hopefully it's a boy because we both agree on Thomas!

CPS meets Colour Chef

Last night I made a couple of cards, here is one based on Sketch 171 from CPS, who are sponsored by Kraftin Kimmie Stamps this week, and I found my colour inspiration at Colour Chef  Challenge 55.

I flipped the sketch on the side...

Fairly simple, clean lines, all products are stampin' up besides the rhinstones on the butterfly, they are from kaisercraft.
Well just a quick post for me, I have a 5 year old waiting for someone to listen to her read :)
hope you're all having a wonderful start to the week and do pop over and check out these challenge blogs, maybe you will be inspired to create something amazing!!

blues and browns for a birthday

Good evening, I'm sneaking in some blogging while John watches the news and Aimee is colouring at the dining table :)

Here is a card I made last night following Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch 73 and the colour inspiration comes from Kim at Off The Wall Craftiness Challenge 11.

I've made 3 different kids of flowers, a spiral rose, a ribbon flower and a crochet flower, which isn't showing up well because of the Dark brown wool I used. I also used my circle nesties and martha stewart butterfly punch, cardstock is from stampin' up sentiment is 'anita's'.
Well thanks for stopping by and do pop over and check out these fabulous challenges! xx

A colour challenge!

A big happy hello to you all!
I have to share with you my card for Aimee's challenge blog, she decided that challenge #9 is a colour challenge using her favourites, pink and brown and also vanilla (or white) as the main colours on your creations :)
She is so much fun to sit down with, I love watching how she decides what will go where and the look on her face when she is finished and happy with what she has made :)
Here is my take on her colour challenge using the stampin' up two step bird punch and small wonder sentiment from the whimsical wishes set. also cuttlebug swiss dots folder and oval nestabilities.

I'm also entering it for Sketch 69 From ICS, but I've used the ovals instead of a circle becasue I lent my scalloped circle nesties to a friend. I wanted to keep this one fairly simple, but would have loved to add some stitching details on the vanilla pieces My old sewing machine is playing up, something wrong with the tension I think, and the more I adjust the settings the worse it seems to get :(
If you would like to see Aimee's card, or even play along with her colour challenge pop over to her challenge blog, entries close on the 26th of June :)
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Ours was busy busy busy! With John's family visiting and Charlotte had a high temperature most of yesterday and today. Hoping for a quieter week! I've made a couple of cards this evening, hope to find time to pop them onto my blog tomorrow :)
take care xx

just a birthday card :)

Hi there friends! I've got a card to show you combining the fabulous colour chef challenge 54 from kelly jo's stamp pad, and the inspiring sketch 54 from Kazan over at 2Sketches4You!

I'll be posting this out tomorrow to a little someone special :) I don't know how often she checks my blog so I won't mention any names. I love this teal ribbon it came in a mac mae card kit I ordered a while back, sadly this is the last piece! I've also got some of that vintage sorta lace and some kaisercraft flowers fastened with an antique heart brad. Some raffia, distressing and stitching and I was content :) If you think this colour challenge is something you can handle pop over and link up your card with Kelly Jo :) and do stop by 2S4Y the design team always have some amazing cards to share and this week there is a 25dollar gift certificate for the card of the week sponsored by wonderful The Stamping Boutique!
Thanks for stopping by, I'll be drawing my blog candy real soon so pop back to see if you're the winner :)

small wonder take 3

Good morning!
I've got another take on my small wonder sentiment card using the stampin' up 2 step bird punch. This time my inspiration comes from CPS sketch 170 and Curtain Call 33

I only have 4 coloured inks and certainly celery isn't one of them, so I made do with old olive for the sentiment.

I also made another crochet flower, the yarn is pistachio green and if the first 3 commenter's would like me to send them a set of 5 please email me at johnandjess(at)wideband.net.au with your name and postal address :) they are fun to make!

I used a 1.75 hook and followed the tutorial from littlebirdiesecrets I found on you tube. Thanks for stopping by, hopefully be back tomorrow with something else to show you... possibly another baby card... I know quite a few women expecting!

barely embellished?

Good evening this will be a quick post! Time to start cooking dinner!
I've made this card for the colour with labels challenge at Embellish

It is also suitable for Aimee's Challenge Blog where she wants to see you 'something for a girl' projects this fortnight. And over at Pixie Dust Studio Challenge they want to see you 'punch it out'. This is also where this sweet little 'Pixie P' image comes from. If you have been to my blog before you may know colouring images is not really 'my thing' I prefer to embellish and stuff... but Aimee helped me pick this one out and then we had to sit and colour together too :) I went with pencils and I'm happy with how it turned out.

I've used papers from my stash, sentiment is stampin' up, butterfly punch is from martha stewart, rhinestones from kaisercraft, and I also did some stitching and used my oval nestablilities...

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're all having a fabulous and creative start to the week!

so glad we're friends

Good afternoon, I'm sneaking in a bit of blogging while my girls watch ABC kids programs :)
I've got a card to share that I finally finished off, combining a few different challenges too!

The sketch is from ICS, I used sketch 17 from May 2009
The colours are from Pals Paper Arts PPA45
I've also got ribbon flowers for the
current challenge at Charisma Cardz
and butterflies for the 'punch it out' challenge
at Pixie Dust Studio

All papers and sentiment are stampin' up, butterfly punch is martha stewart, rhinestones are from kaisercraft, buttons ribbon and twine from my stash. I also did some distressing and used my cuttlebug swiss dots folder on the big white piece.

Thanks for stopping by, I've just printed off a couple more sketches and jotted down some other challenges and hopefully be back tomorrow or maybe Wednesday with some more to show you!
If you haven't yet, there is still time to put your name down in my little blog candy draw, you can find a link in my sidebar.

Guess who's a Guest Bar-Tender!!

Me!!
How exciting it is to see your card recognised on someone else's blog :)
I only recently found this fab challenge blog called Raise the Bar, and I submitted This card and got chosen to (guest) bar-tend this week!
Joni set the 'Summer' theme for this week and here is what I came up with:

Today I've used a 14cmx14cm whisper white base, then a layer of american craft 'cherry' cardstock and distressed the edges a little then zigzag stitched it, and used my fiskars border punch on the apricot cardstock across the middle. Then I distressed and stitched around the white circle, used a stampin' up birthday sentiment and added some rhinestones, buttons and a crochet flower!

This is the first one I've made! I found a link on you tube and after a few tries I was happy! I also gathered up 5inches of yellow ribbon like a flower to sit it on. I used the Curtain call 32 over at Stacey's Stamping Stage as these colours are so bright and summer-y and I've also based my card on the FTL92 sketch over at Clean&Simple stamping. This card also works for Aimee's 'Something for a girl' challenge :)

I'm so excited to be working along-side the Bar Tenders at Raise the Bar this week! Please pop over and check out their amazing work! Thanks for stopping by!

(And there is still a few days left to put your name down in my little blog candy draw too!)

It's official!

I am so excited to share the news!
I have been accepted to be a member of the Design Team over at
The challenges are posted on Fridays so pop over and check out the new one later on today!
You can see my DT work starting from June 18th!
Does this mean another blog candy? We'll have to wait and see...

Green at Heart :)

It's design team wednesday over at The Stamp Spot blog, and this week is my turn to share :)

I've used some Basic Grey "Green at Heart" paper, beautiful Prima roses, white doilie, lush ruffle edge may arts ribbon, and one of my favourites to have on hand... rhinestones! I did some zig zag stitching around the edge of the basic grey paper.

Most of my cards I put on a 6x4 inch base, or half A4 folded in half.
And I seem to be stuck on making them top fold atm... they just seem to photograph so much neater.

Marcia has so many fantastic products in store! If you're an Aussie it is definately worth popping into her store for a browse, and her postage rates are fantasic!
Thanks for stopping by today, I'm off to catch up on some much needed beauty sleep!
I will have to work out how to schedule a post one of these days :)
I'll be back with some more to show you later in the week! Until then take care xx

PS don't forget to check out my blog candy while you're here! You can find a link to the post in my sidebar :)

small wonder take 2

Good evening, I'm back with another card! This is another one using the stampin' up bird punch and whimsical wishes small wonder sentiment, and will be stored for when my friends start having babies! One particular friend who found out they are having a girl and I think this will do just fine :)
I've used Karens Sweet Sunday Sketch

and combined it with Kims Off The Wall Craftiness Challenge 9 colour challenge.

It also works for Aimee's 'Something-for-girl' Challenge.
You may have seen these same ribbons in my earlier post today, sometimes I'm inspired just by whats laying around on my desk!

Thanks for stopping by and please put your name down in my blog candy draw if you have time... there's a link in my sidebar... only a few more days left! Post number 300 is coming up soon so I'll have to think of something extra yummy to give-away to celebrate!
Hope you're all having a wonderful and creative start to the week
Take care xx

all papers and sentiment are stampin' up, don't know the brand of the pink ribbon Charlotte had destroyed the packaging before we made it to the checkout, the teal ribbon came in a mac mae card kit, the buttons, charms and twine from my stash, also stitched and distressed around the edge of the white panel. the rhinestones are from kaisercraft... thats about it :)

Thanks for stopping by and if you have time I would love for you to put your name down in my little blog candy... link can be found in my sidebar.
